County Hall - still in Kingston

Figures obtained recently by Cllr David Goodwin show that the recent refurbishment of County Hall in Kingston, which also involved the costs of moving staff from one office to another, will total £3.123 million spread over 3 years.

"This is a further cost arising from the Tories' bungled attempt to move County Hall to Woking", says David, "Yet we are no nearer bringing SCC back into Surrey or gaining the benefits of having all the staff located in one place."

The original cost of the failed move to Woking in 2005 amounted to £2.571 million, an overall waste of £5.694 million of council tax payers money.
