Andy Burton is the divisional member for Hinchley Wood, Claygate and Oxshott. He was elected to the County Council in a by-election held in August 2025.

This election was Andy’s first foray into politics. He has previously enjoyed a successful career as an investment banker until 2016 and a policy and advocacy consultant for the UK arm of CFA Institute until 2024. 

He also served as Finance Governor and Chair of Governors for 8 years at a state primary school local to Esher, where he has lived with his wife and children for 20 years.

His main interests at Surrey County Council are Finance, Highways and Education.
