Care home report makes ugly reading

25 Jul 2013

Cllr Fiona White, the Liberal Democrat Opposition Spokesperson for Adult Social Care on Surrey County Council, has called for an urgent report to councillors on Care home top-up fees. A report by Independent Age entitled "Care home top-up fees: the secret subsidy" has rated Surrey's performance as 'ugly'.

Cllr Fiona White said:"The report certainly makes ugly reading and will no doubt cause concern for people in Surrey who may need residential care and for their families.

"It is vitally important that the relatives of the elderly going into care are made fully aware of the options that are available to ensure the best care for their loved ones."
