The Coalition Government's health plans are about freedom and accountability - and about closing the gap between rich and poor. "The NHS is a vital cornerstone of British society, but it desperately needs to be brought into the 21st century," says Liberal Democrat Health Minister, Paul Burstow MP.
"Labour's obsession with targets and dictating from the centre has resulted in too many people dying too young or suffering from preventable illnesses. It has led to huge health inequalities in different parts of the country."
