Surrey's Police and Crime Panel have unanimously called on Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Lisa Townsend to produce a new CCTV strategy within 3 months, after a cash-strapped Tory Council was forced to decommission its CCTV cameras because of lack of police support.

Surrey Liberal Democrats have accused the Conservative Government of "incompetence and chaos" after the Autumn Statement saw tax hikes and cuts to services for people in Surrey. The Chancellor's measures come in the wake of economic turmoil following the "mini-budget" which saw mortgage rates spike to record levels.

Tory Council Leader admits letting people down in home to school transport chaos

The Tory Leader of Surrey County Council this week used his statement at the head of the full council meeting on 11 October to admit that "we have let some people down." His comments referred to the chaos in the Home to School transport service that organises travel for mainstream and special needs pupils, which had prompted a series of questions from Members to find out what had gone wrong.
